Admission Policies

Silver Spring Nursery School, Inc., welcomes students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin.

Current and former families, as well as UUCSS Church members (from whom we rent our space) receive priority registration. A lottery is held to determine which new families are accepted. Registration forms require an accompanying application fee. Upon notice of acceptance, a deposit is required. Since SSNS is a parent participation school, we require all interested parents to tour our school (at our annual Open House, held 1/30/08, or by private tour) before applying.

To enter each class, students must be of the the following ages. This insures that all SSNS 4's graduates will be able to enter kindergarten.

SSNS 2's, age 2 by Sept 1st
SSNS 3's, age 3 by Sept 1st
SSNS 4's, age 4 by Sept 1st

Children older than 4 may be admitted to our four’s program upon submission of a waiver from the local school system.

Parents interested in our school should email the Membership Chair, or phone 301-434-2313 to schedule a school visit.

After acceptance, all families must submit the required health forms for both child and co-oping parent(s) before the child or parent can enter a class.
